Wikipedia Speedrun Race!

You might have already heard of a Wikipedia speedrun, but I will still explain it for those that do not. We will be using this website: Wikipedia Speedruns!

A Wikipedia Speedrun is where you start from one Wikipedia page and have to get to the goal page as fast as you can. Here is how it'll work for this event in particular:

  • Participants will do 10 Wikipedia article speedruns randomized from the top 3000 articles. The articles will be randomized live. Your score will be based on the accumulated time from all 10 articles. There is a time limit of 3 minutes per speedrun. If you pass 3 minutes and do not get to the goal article, your time will be counted as 3 minutes for that article.
  • There will be 4 sessions throughout the day as follows: 12:30 AM, 3 PM, 6 PM, 9 PM.
  • There will be one leaderboard used for all sessions even if the articles will be different from session to session. We feel this is overall best for the event and logistical purposes.
  • Scores that count will be based off the cabin that had the least amount of participants. This means if Cabin 1-3 had 7 participants but Cabin 4 had 5 participants, then only the top 5 scores from each cabin will be counted. We will need AT LEAST 5 scores per cabin. On the off chance there is a cabin that cannot get 5 participants, we can have a member double up for another session, but this will only be used in an emergency situation.

1st place will be awarded 100 points
2nd place will be awarded 75 points
3rd place will be awarded 50 points
4th place will be awarded 30 points
5th place will be awarded 20 points
