Welcome again everyone to Pokémon Bingo, back by popular demand (again). This year's bingo is going to work mostly the same as last year's. If you weren't here for last Bingo, here's a quick rundown. Bingo is like a speedrun, but instead of racing to enter the Hall of Fame or obtain a certain amount of badges, you are trying to get a "bingo" on a board of actions you can do in the game. These actions can range from simple things like getting 6 gym badges or catching a specific Pokémon. The game of choice this year is going to be Pokemon Black 2, once again on a randomized rom we will give you. The save file you will load for bingo will start you inside the Castelia City Pokemon Center. Only what was necessary to reach that point has been done on this save file, with the Pokedex and play time wiped on the file. You have the whole week to poke around in this game and find the quickest way to complete BINGO on the bingo board. We will reveal the board and link the .nds file right at the start of Day 1.
When you complete a square, you "mark" it off on your bingo board, but if you ever un-complete that square you must un-mark it. You finish a run when you get a "bingo" with 5 squares forming a line across the board at the same time. Here is this year's bingo board:
There is one notable change to the event from last year. We have changed the scoring of this event to be team based rather than individual based. Each cabin's fastest time will be counted, and points will be awarded to every cabin aside from last. While your cabin will likely end up selecting one person to tryhard the run, your cabin will need to work together to find the best route. An example of a completable challenge on the board is "Catch 3 legendary pokemon". It is up to the cabin as a whole to find the locations of legendary pokemon within the randomized variant of the game and to collectively determine the fastest route, so their chosen runner can complete the game as fast as they can. It is advised to have a coordinated effort to search for these things in the game, such as dividing up areas to check in the game or otherwise splitting information gathering. Good luck in sniffing your way through the wackiest rom we've handed you all yet...
Rules
You are not allowed to use cheats during your run.
Your emulator must be locked at 100% speed during your run. Feel free to speed up when not doing a run as much as you'd like.
Your first pokemon caught's name must be [your username's first four letters]. Example: Nick
To submit your run, take a screenshot of your in-game time once you have a bingo, and then take screenshots of all your proof. You CANNOT screenshot each bit of proof as you get it, since you must have all five squares completed at the same time to finish. Some squares are an exception to this - we will list these when we reveal the square. DM your submission and screenshots to @wheegalure.
You have all week to do Pokémon Bingo, and your cabin's run isn't due until the end of Day 5. That's all!
Scoring
1st place will be awarded 200 points 2nd place will be awarded 100 points 3rd place will be awarded 50 points
